General features

The WZ-PIR module is a motion sensor from the WZ family of wireless modules. The signal indicating detected motion is sent to the base station module, and from there it is transmitted to the CAN bus.

Product features

The WZ-PIR module has a built-in light sensor that adjusts its operation according to the level of sunlight. The module is powered by a single 1/2AA battery and offers a long transmission range (up to 300 m in open terrain). The sensor features a 120° field of view and is based on a digital PIR sensor. The light intensity measurement range is between 4 and 100,000 lx. The operating range is 1.5–8 m. Motion detection is indicated by an LED. The magnetic base allows for quick installation and convenient adjustment of the direction.

Programming

The module is programmed using the Ampio Designer tool.

For the actuator modules’ logic to function correctly, the actuator module’s firmware must be version 11700 or higher.

Before commencing configuration, it is essential to pair the device with the Ampio WZ base station module in the wired part of the building automation system. To do this, use the Ampio Designer software to set the base station module to search mode for WZ group modules. Whilst search mode is active, press the PROG button on the powered radio module for approximately 0.5 seconds or trigger the motion sensor (motion detection is indicated by the LED). If the operation is successful, the detected device will appear in the list of paired wireless modules in the Ampio Designer programme.

We do not recommend using more than 8 Ampio WZ wireless modules per base station module. Installing more modules may result in excessive load on the wireless network and malfunction of the system.

Replacing the battery

  • Use the magnetic stand to unscrew the base.
  • Gently remove the base from the body.
  • Use a flat-bladed screwdriver to remove the battery.
  • Fit a new battery, paying particular attention to the polarity.

WARNING: Using the wrong type of battery will prevent the device from starting up and operating correctly.

  • Insert the base into the housing and use the magnetic stand to close the casing.
