Matter is an increasingly common connectivity standard used in building automation, among other applications. The following guide will show how to communicate Ampio devices with the aforementioned standard.
This integration allows, among other things, communication with voice assistants such as Alexa or Google Home. The tested products included those from Google, Amazon and Apple.
To find out which system supports which types of data, a table available on this site may be helpful: https://github.com/project-chip/matter.js/blob/main/docs/ECOSYSTEMS.md
A system image version 407 or later is recommended for the integration.
To enable Matter support for an object, go to the APPLICATION tab and tick the option on the right in the advanced options of the object.
Click to enlarge and open in a new tab.
Next, pair the Ampio server to the Matter system - the QR code will appear when you click on MATTER in the SETTINGS tab of the Ampio Designer under the System sub-tab.
Click to enlarge and open in a new tab.
All devices add and refresh automatically ( names are retrieved in the same way). The device in Matter is also automatically matched to the one in Ampio. If types are incompatible, this can be overridden by changing the Type object in the main settings.
