What is the Frame Panel?

The Frame panel is used for monitoring and testing communication between devices on the Ampio CAN network.

It includes three tools, each with a specific purpose.

Installers should only use the Network Monitor tab.
Other tabs are intended for specialists only.

Network Monitor – the main tool for installers

Purpose:

Monitors CAN network traffic in real-time.

Features:

  • Displays messages exchanged between devices.
  • Allows selecting specific devices to monitor.
  • Filters messages by type (e.g., temperature, blinds, input/output states).
  • Presents data in a clear format, e.g., with separated regulator parameters.
  • Enables or disables message logging.
  • Allows clearing the message list.

Should installers use it?

Yes! This is the primary tool for:

  • commissioning installations,
  • diagnosing configuration issues,
  • verifying correct communication.

RAW – raw CAN messages

Purpose:

Displays raw hex data messages (without interpretation) and allows sending them manually.

Features:

  • Sniffs raw messages from a selected device.
  • Sends messages in hexadecimal format.
  • Displays MAC address, data, message direction (incoming/outgoing), and timestamp.

Should installers use it?

NO! Unless you are familiar with RAW communication or have been explicitly instructed by technical support.

This tool is intended only for:

  • developers,
  • advanced service technicians,
  • installers integrating devices via RAW communication.

Warning: Incorrect usage may disrupt the module’s operation or damage devices!

Developer Tools

Purpose:

Similar to the RAW tab, but uses a different message-sending mechanism.

Features:

  • Provides the same message viewing and sending options as the RAW tab.
  • Used for direct message sending during advanced testing and diagnostics.

Should installers use it?

No! This tool is for developers and technical departments only.
